Story

Hi all, I think most of you already will know my story and why I'm running this race, but if not the full is available here:

http://www.justgiving.com/The-Chris-Hartley-Legacy

That said, I, and a group of Chris' friends and family (see the team page) have decided that it would be a good idea to run Manchester's first half marathon in memory of the big lad who sadly passed away last year and using the opportunity to raise money for The Christie hospital in Manchester who provided fantastic and invaluable care for Chris during his time there.

Considering most of us met through Download festival, it's easily noticeable we aren't the most natural distance runners, with me playing hockey the only relatable experience I've got. No doubt it's going to be a grueling few weeks training and 2 hours of racing (or longer...) but it's worth all the pain!

If anyone would like to donate even the smallest amount to a life changing cause or even just to come and laugh at me for being very much out of my comfort zone, please do and just know it means the world, not just to me, but all the other patients The Christie look after every day.

Thank you and wish me luck!

Dan x
