Story

The Big Walk is back on 11th June 2016!

The longest and most challenging group charity walk in Wales, The Big Walk, was launched in 2014 to help raise funds for Prostate Cymru, the leading prostate cancer charity in Wales. In 2014 the walk saw 60 eager fundraisers take on this physically and mentally challenging event. A gruelling 9 hours of walking and a distance of 30 miles from the Principality Stadium, Cardiff to Kenfig Hill RFC, Bridgend. Warren Gatland, Wales Head Coach & Prostate Cymru ambassador, and Ospreys second row, Lloyd Ashley were at the starting line to officially start the walk. The group raised a massive £9,000, exceeding expectations.

In 2015 a much larger group of fundraisers took on our second annual walk, with 180 signing up to the challenge. Our second annual walk saw Gethin Jenkins, Wales Prop forward & Rhys Priestland, Wales Outside Half start the walk on the pitch inside the Principality Stadium, a breathtaking experience. The participants raised a massive £24,000.
