The Aydin Foundation have built 36 wells, with a reach between 500 to 1000 people per well. Giving clean water, whilst educating the people on better sanitation and good hygiene. It has truly changed lives. The foundation want to continue to provide education to local users of the water wells, about good hygiene and sanitation practises.
Around 1.2 billion people, or almost one-fifth of the world’s population, live in areas of scarcity. Another 1.6 billion people, or almost one quarter of the world’s population, face economic water shortage (where countries lack the necessary infrastructure to take water from rivers and aquifers). The Clean Water Project aims to provide clean and safe drinking water to remote and desolate villages worldwide by installing deep water wells.
Deep water wells have a life span on 40-45 years and having an average serving potential of up to 35 families. The deep water wells would be situated in a communal places where several families can access; such as village centres and schools. Deep water wells are ideal for families who rely on agriculture and farming; it allows the villages to be self-sufficient.
