Story
As some of you may remember, 2 years ago I ran the Berlin Half Marathon and raised money for the Get-A-Head charity.
I am running for this wonderful charity again at the London Marathon 2014 in memory of Melanie Jaggard, who sadly passed away in August of last year.
Mel had a very rare form of cancer – ACC (Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma) – for which there is currently no cure), but she didn’t let that stop her and truly lived life to the full. Along with her friends and family, she was passionate and driven to raise money to help find a cure for this lesser known cancer. And so, it is in memory of Mel that I will be running the London Marathon 2014, a grueling 26.2 miles – a distance I have never even walked!! It is my small way to build a legacy for Mel and to continue the work that she started so that more children, like 2-year old twins Amelie & Tommy, and more husbands, like Charlie, can spend precious time with their loved ones, like Mel.
I am training hard over the winter months so please dig deep into your pockets and give whatever you can to help me along the way. I know Mel’s friends & family would be touched by the ongoing support to fight this cancer once and for all. All the money will go directly to Get -A -Head, so every penny you donate will make a difference.
A huge heartfelt thank in advance for anything you can spare.
