Story
A few years ago my mother in law was diagnosed with Essential Thrombocythaemia. I'd never heard of this before, and I suspect most people haven't.
Essential Thrombocythaemia is a blood condition that causes your body to make too many platelets in your blood, so that you don't clot properly, putting you at increased risk of strokes and haemorrhage. There is high risk of it developing into Acute Myloid Leukamia.
Treatment is long term use of chemotherapy, which means she will be taking chemo for the rest of her life.
I know that raising money for Blood Cancer UK will make a huge difference by supporting essential research and support for this and all forms of Blood Cancer.
