Why my family and I are doing this.....

In September 2009 my dad passed away with cancer, a complete shock and very quick. He had come down to see us in Ipswich as usual and was taken ill on the 3rd of September and rushed into Ipswich hospital were he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He stayed in Ipswich hospital for five days as we were trying to get him back home, however he took a turn for the worse and it was decided to transfer him to the St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich. He lived for two more days and passed away peacefully on the 10th. Until this happened I had know idea about the fantastic work that the hospice did let alone that they existed. The made my dad very comfortable for his last couple of days and it helped to know that he was in such good hands.

I never thought that I would be in this situation, not yet anyway, but with my mum passing away in 1995 at the age of 52 and now my dad, it has been a very cruel awaking to lose the two best friends a person can ever have.

I loved my dad with all my heart and I will never forget him or my mum and doing this walk is just another way to remember them and to help the hospice help other people.

So please help me and my family to help the hospice raise as much money as possible so that they can help others with the outstanding care they gave to my dad.

Thanks in appreciation, Terry
