Edinburgh Big Beach Busk 2015 · 29 August 2015

The National Blind Children's Society recently changed its name to Blind Children UK and is now part of the Guide Dogs family. At Blind Children UK our mission is to enable children and young people, who are blind and partially sighted to achieve their educational and recreational goals.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Matthew lost his eyesight quite suddenly in 2014 due to a genetic disorder known as Lebers' Hereditary Optic Neuropathy (LHON). Grant Smith from Blind Children UK has been helping Matthew with mobility training and habilitation from quite an early stage. He has been a major factor not just in teaching Matthew to become self-reliant in getting around Edinburgh, but also in helping the whole of our family face the future with greater confidence.

Raising money for Blind Children UK will help someone else get the sort of opportunity Matthew has received.
