Fundraising for Cancer Research UK
In 2015 my sister Rosie and I ran the Cardiff half-marathon, following Rosie's treatment for cancer. Since then my brother and niece have both benefited from treatments derived from the work of Cancer Research UK, but so much more remains to be done.
So Rosie and I ran Cardiff again in both 2016 and 2017. This year we will be repeating the adventure but adding in another event, in Swansea.
Before we got to Swansea I was persuaded to run the Heref half with a pupil from my Squash Coaching, Thank you Attilla!
Then, in September a friend asked me to join him near Osewtry for the Lake Vyrnwy half, thank you Paul.
So its onto Cardiff, on the way we hope to raise awareness and a little more to fund this work.
A quote from Cancer Research UK, "Over the last 40 years survival in the UK has doubled. And today half the people diagnosed will survive. Our ambition is to speed up progress and see 3 in 4 people surviving the disease in the near future."
