Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Well, we did it! And very proud we are of our 3 hours and 10 minutes time. A huge thank you to everyone who supported us - it helped spur us on thinking of all the money being raised.
We took part in the 10 Mile Midnight Walk on 18 June 2010 to raise desperately needed funds for the Woking and Sam Beare Hospices.
The Hospices offer an atmosphere of peace and hope to ensure that patients feel safe and secure and offer the following services and facilities:
- Medical Care
- In-patient bedded units with en-suite facilities
- Day care units - now reopen one day a week at each Hospice
- Counselling Team
- Chaplaincy Team
- Community Clinical Nurse Specialists
This is an example of what your money can provide:
- £20 will buy a nurses uniform
- £45 will keep the doors open for 5 minutes
- £90 will buy one week’s Art therapy course for our patients
- £135 will keep the doors open for 15 minutes
- £200 will provide a mobile phone for one year for one of our Community Nurse Specialists
- £300 will provide a ‘Foundations in Palliative Care course’ for one nurse

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
We, and the Hospices, are extremely grateful for any donation you are able to give.
