Story
On 17th November 2017 my boyfriend Pete West was admitted to Princess Royal Hospital Haywards Heath as an emergency. He was suffering from Cepsis which had developed secondary to an infection which we later found out to be Bacterial Menengitis and also developed Pneumonia.
During his 6 week battle he was transferred to the intensive care unit twice. Despite the best care and dedicated efforts of the superb staff there, Pete sadly lost his battle and left us for a better place on the 29th December 2017.
The type of care that Pete received during his time in hospital is truly incredible and I know his family would agree with me the staff exceptional! It is however EXTREMELY expensive and Government funding alone isn't enough to pay for it. I would like to try and help a little towards trying to ensure that this care remains available for other people in the future. Pete was terribly un-lucky, but intensive care DOES save lives.
So I have decided to take part in The Local Fire Services 5K Reindeer Run in Buxted Park on Sunday 2nd December. I realise 5K isn't far, but it really is for me! I would be most grateful if you would be willing to sponsor me for this small run in the park and if I reach 50% of my target I will personally donate £50 to The local Firebrigade Charity (Organisers of the run) and if I reach target I will donate £100. Everyone living locally to Uckfield I'm sure shares my in-ordinate amount of respect for the fire service in general, but especially here and will recall a number of occasions in particular where these brave men and women have really shon.
Thank you in advance for your kind consideration. I really appreciate your support.
If you're feeling up for a small challenge then why not come and join me? Send me a message and I'll forward you the registration details.
Thanks Again. Xxxxx
