Francesca and I are cycling from Suzhou near Shanghai to Venice along the Silk route via the mountains of Sichuan, the Taklamakan desert, and across the Tian Shan mountain range to Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Kazakhstan. We then plan to cross the Caspian to the Caucasus, the Black sea and the Balkans to arrive in Venice at the beginning of July. We are doing this in aid of Scotland's charity air ambulance. SCAA provides invaluable cover for Scotland's isolated communities. We will be inspired by this thought as we cycle through some of the World's most remote areas. Francesca and I have set ourselves a target of raising a pound a mile of our five thousand mile journey.
