Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
To help commemorate my 50th birthday in 2001, I took part in one of the first major fund raising activities that have been carried out by the St. James's Place Foundation. The Three Peaks Challenge in that year has been followed by a wide range of charity events ranging from trekking to the Everest base camp, climbing Mount Kilimanjaro and bike rides between SJP offices.
A sum in excess of £54 million has been raised by the Foundation during those intervening years, predominantly for child-related charities. As well as the money raising events, a significant amount of money is realised by way of monthly covenants from over 80% of St. James's Place, the largest donation per capita by any organisation in the UK. Apart from my own monthly covenant, my physical involvement has been fairly minimal. Until now.
Over the weekend of 22nd and 23rd April, I will be joining 200 other members of the Partnership in a 35 mile walk on the Gower Peninsula in South Wales.
As well as this year being another age landmark for me, it is also the 25th anniversary of St. James's Place and, to help commemorate this, the company will match the figures raised on a ratio of £2.00 for every £1.00. This would mean if I reach my target of £1,500, the company will add £3,000.
I would be really grateful if you might consider sponsoring me in this venture in my attempt to reach my target for the charities we are supporting this year. These include Children and the Young, Cancer Research and Hospices.
With many thanks
