Story
Myself and the other 6 members (Nat, Dennis, Mark, Sarah,Toni and Simon) of the team “game on sports therapy” decided to do the trek for my 40th birthday , delayed due to covid. Climbing mt Kilimanjaro , the tallest free standing peak in the world and the highest point of Africa - so it only seemed right that something so vast would be celebrated and supported by raising money for a charity.
We mulled over many , we came to the decision of Birmingham children's hospital; quite simply as they are an amazing local charity , treating such a wide varieties of children of all ages with many different illnesses from all over the country- Including children of many of my clients. 🥰
So the 7 of us are trekking to the treetop of Africa @5895m ⛰above sea level and raising as much money as possible for a wonderful local charity. 🎈
It’s a gruelling, self funded trek- away for 9 days, with the trek taking 5 days to reach the summit and 2 days to decent. We are using a small, family run company called mountaineerin- whom we have used for personal and client events in the past. We love the owners and guides and their approach and principles and it’s fits in with the reasoning behind the team- the trek beginning with friendships gained through being as clients of my sports therapy business (GAME ON SPORTS THERAPY) based in Sutton Coldfield,Birmingham; it made sense that we use a great small business to help us achieve our adventure and to support a local charity doing amazing things for sick children ❤️🏔
