Story
We are a team of 120 runners taking part in the Two Castles 10k in June 2015 to raise funds & awareness of the cancer research happening right here at the University of Warwick.
Sadly 1 in 3 of us will develop cancer during our lifetime. Research at Warwick focuses on:
- Improving detection - high quality screenings and less invasive tests
- Treatment - the development of new drugs to help the body attack and shut down cancerous cells
- Patient care - helping with issues like tiredness, sickness, weight and hair loss
Please help us to reach our £10,000 team goal which will fund all of the following:
- 100 tests on samples
- 50 racks for gel electrophoresis, which helps measure DNA in cancer cells
- 12 simple chemotherapy pumps, to enable patients to receive their treatment at home
- 5 days of translational research
- 5 days of testing new medicines in clinical trials
