Story
This year the Richardson family, with the help of Anthony Tang, will be taking part in a series of 5 challenges in aid of The Calvert Trust.
The Calvert Trust is an extraordinary charity that helps people with disabilities from across the country participate in outdoor activities alongside their friends and family. Located in Exmoor, the Lake District and Kielder, The Calvert Trust seeks to provide opportunities for families and individuals to experience the enjoyment of the outdoors, whilst challenging themselves in a safe and caring environment.
As a family, we would like to contribute to the charity’s vision - "People with disabilities sharing in life’s opportunities”, and are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this extremely worthwhile cause.
In order to do this, Alan, Julie, Anthony (honouree family member, stepping in for Rachel who is supporting from Dubai), Daniel and myself (Lauren) will be taking part in 5 different ‘extreme’ activity challenges, having drawn names out of a hat at the start of the year.
The timetable for the events are as follows:
• 1 April - Tyne Bridge Newcastle Zip Wire taken up by Alan
• 22 April - Skydive taken up by Anthony Tang on behalf of Rachel
• 17 June - ‘Color Obstacle Rush’ taken up by Julie (No - I have not spelt colour incorrectly.)
• 10 Sept - The Great North Run taken up by Daniel
• 8 Oct - The Kielder Marathon taken up by me, Lauren (Yes, I know, surely a fix!)
Any donations, small or large, would be amazing and greatly appreciated. We know this idea is a little bonkers, but we wanted to do something different, as a family, and most importantly for a brilliant cause.
