To mark World Suicide Prevention Day, we are inviting those in our community to enter teams of 4 to take part in a walking relay through the market towns of Norfolk and Waveney.

Story

To mark World Suicide Prevention Day on 10 September, we are walking 17 miles from Hunstanton to Wells-next-the-Sea on 12 September as part of a relay which will start from Kings Lynn on the 10th September and end in Lowestoft on the 23rd September with a candle light walk in support of those lives touched by suicide.  The following statistics may shock or surprise many of us:  Over 5% of people reported having suicidal thoughts in the past year; there are around 1 death by suicide every 75 minutes in the UK; there were 89 suicides within Norfolk in 2020 and 801 in the last 10 years.

By supporting Norfolk and Waveney Mind, you are helping to support suicide prevention and bereavement services.
