Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
Team Goodrich is a motley collection of Goodrich school parents willing to sacrifice their shoe leather and sweat for ALD Life. This charity assists families living with a particularly cruel and devastating disorder, adrenoleukodystrophy, ALD, a rare, terminal brain disorder affecting apparently normal and healthy young boys. Within months these boys are stripped of all voluntary function leaving them unable to move, see, speak or swallow. They usually do not reach teenage. Sara Hunt is mother to two boys with ALD: Alex, her eldest, attended Goodrich until January 2001 when he was diagnosed. He quickly deteriorated and is now permanently at home in a semi vegetative state. Her younger son, Ayden, has just returned to Year 4 at Goodrich after a bone marrow transplant last year to prevent him from becoming like his brother after ALD was spotted in a routine scan. This is a very small charity desperately needing your help - please give as generously as you can!
