Epilepsy Research UK
2018 was the most devastating year for us and our family We lost our beautiful girl, Ella suddenly to a fatal epilepsy related seizure on Oct 13th 2018 . Our lives have been turned upside down by the loss of our only precious child . Ella was our pride and joy and our lives are so empty with her . Our wonderful friends suggested a challenge close to Ella's birthday in September so Berlin will be our marathon of choice .Mick is taken to the water for his part of the fundraising challenge by swimming a HALF A MILE in Henley in July
We hope by running/ swimming as a team of family and friends we will remember and serve Ella's memory in a deserving manner, but also raise vital funds for research & awareness to prevent any other parents and families from the devastating loss of a family member. The money raised will be used for vital research purposes in Ella's name and that alone will make me proud.
Please help this fantastic group of friends and family members reach our goal and honour Ella's memory as we take on the Berlin Marathon on September 29th 2019 just after Ella's 23rd birthday and just before we mark the 1st Anniversary of her passing. Mum will also take part in the London Marathon on April 26th 2020
It is our hope that this challenge will give us all a reason to train, run and challenge ourselves. I've lost my appetite for running since we lost Ella. I need to find it again, as I so desperately want to run it for her, but also raise money for others like Ella and prevent any more unnecessary premature deaths from Epilepsy.
Research is vital to causes and cures .
Thank you all for your generosity, kindness, love and support during this incredibly difficult time. You have no idea how much it means to Mick and I and Ella's family.
We are so grateful to Ellas Army teammates Maureen, Paul, David Darien, & Mary ...and Mick ! (Unbelievable Support and Team Spirit )
