Story
2021 was a turbulent year for us all, we smashed our joint target and generated over £115,000 for the Giles Trust. In 2022 we'll have a final push to Colins anniversary in Feburary.

Background: In early 2020 we lost a great father, son, husband, brother, colleague, and friend in Colin Broomfield aged 52 to a Glioblastoma brain tumour. Despite Colin receiving fantastic treatment and fighting extremely hard, there’s still a long way to go in advancing the treatment of this disease and raising awareness.
Some key facts
- Brain Tumours are the biggest cancer killer of Children and adults under the age of 40.
- 11,000 people are diagnosed with Primary Brain Tumours each year in the UK.
- Less than 20% of those diagnosed will live longer than 5 years.
- Unlike most other cancers the incidence of brain cancer is rising – its increased by 53% since 1970.
A team of us have undertaken fund raising activities in Colin’s name, all to generate funds for The Giles Trust - a vital fund for brain tumour research and treatment at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. Founded and supported by Stine Giles and England cricketer Ashley Giles.
#TeamCB will celebrate Colin’s life. The charter of the fund is to have fun, generate awareness and develop a funding vessel that can help to develop research and analysis into brain tumour control and ultimately eradication.
