Story
A group of friends (and members of BFC) have come together and entered a relay team into the RISE Undercliff 8km Run in October. For some this is the first time they've run in a formal race and for others the first time they've run at all!
Here's what they have to say on their motivations and why you should donate to RISE:
RISE is a fantastic local charity, whose staff work in difficult conditions, and whose work makes an enormous difference to families' lives in the city. I've never run anywhere in my life, but what better cause than this and better time than now to face my nemesis?
I've recently fallen in love with running and as I've made progress with my fitness I've been keen to take on a challenge. RISE is a vital and fantastic charity that supports women and the relay seemed like a perfect first run to raise money & have some fun training with my fellow BFC members!
I haven't really done much running except for the odd occasion when running for the bus! But when I was asked to do this challenge for RISE I thought it was a perfect reason to start getting into running. I really enjoyed my first training session it was so much fun and I'm looking forward to raising money for a great cause :-)
I've only been running for a few weeks and I'm slow but enthusiastic! Rise provide vital services locally and I can't think of a better reason to try to take running to the next level!
