Story
Hi, thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
All done!
On the 18th April 2010 Rob ran the inaugural Brighton Marathon.
He hadn't run for 4 weeks prior to the event due to a painful calf injury and I was worried about him even starting the marathon. However, Rob ran a superb race, taking 51 mins off his pb to finish in 3.26.02. He was brilliant to watch, paced it beautifully and looked comfortable all the way round the hot course.
Yesterday (25th April) I ran the first Virgin London Marathon and it went better than I could've hoped for. A small error in my maths meant I paced myself a little faster than intended but kept the pace to take 12 mins off my pb and duck under the 3-hour mark.
Thank you to everyone who has sponsored us, we've raised so much more than I anticipated and we're so grateful to everyone for all the support. Thank you.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease which leads to a degeneration of motor function, including weakness, wasting of muscles, loss of mobility and difficulties with speech.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) has a vision of an MND-free world. They ensure the care of people living with the condition as well as providing support for families and carers. The association also funds vital (and until now, neglected) research into MND.
