Story
We are taking on a combination of 3 challenges to be done one after the other in less than 24 hours in aid to support LATCH Welsh Children's Cancer Charity.
A family close to us all has recently found out the devastating news that their 3 year old boy has a condition called neuroblastoma. A rare form of cancer which affects around 100 children a year in the UK. As you can imagine their world has been turned upside down and with out charities like LATCH it would be made much harder. LATCH is most well known for its on-Site Family Accommodation at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. They also provide support with vital Social Work Services, Financial Support, Emotional Support for Parents, brothers and sisters; even things as simple as providing the children with games and toys while at hospital, the list goes on. With out these vital services these hard times would become much harder. This is the reason we have decided to take on this challenge and raise money for LATCH so that they can continue to provide familes with support throughout these hard and challenging times.
The Challenge
The Welsh 3 Peaks will kick off the challenge starting on the 1st October at 1pm. This involves climbing Snowdon followed by Cadair Idris and then finishing at Pen-Y-Fan. After a quick bite to eat and a few gallons of water, we will set off on our 50 mile cycle from Pen-Y-Fan to Cardiff in aim to make it in time for the last part of the challenge; to take part in the Cardiff Half Marathon. The finish line is where the challenge will end and hopefully much money will be raised for this incredible non for profit charity who help families through incredibly tough times.
