Story
Our son, Joshua, was born with severe hearing loss and was fitted with hearing aids when he was a wee 8 weeks old. He is now a bubbly and happy little two year old that is obsessed with cars and riding his scooter in the park.
In our search to support Joshua's listening and speech development further, we came across the Elizabeth Foundation in Portsmouth and have been extremely grateful ever since.
Joshua has only been attending the foundation for 4 months and it has been an incredible experience for us. He loves pulling his school jumper and Spiderman backpack on and heading off to see Nicki, Lily and his friends every week.
The Elizabeth Foundation is a world-class institution that enables deaf children to develop good listening skills, natural speech, confidence and self-esteem and we couldn't be happier to have found it. It is hard to put into words how amazing it is.
For everything the foundation has given us, we would like to give a little back by taking on The Elizabeth Foundation Christmas Challenge this year. Our plan is simply to walk 2.5 miles as a family (more than once) in the lead up to Christmas - we'll update with pics and videos as we go!
We would like to say a massive thank you to The Elizabeth Foundation for everything they are doing for Joshua and the other 80 children just like him and we'd be super grateful if you'd join us by donating to the cause!
