Story

THE CHALLENGE -  to climb the three highest peaks in the UK in 'one go' within 24 hours.

We will travel to Fort William on Friday June 18th, start with Ben Nevis on the Saturday morning, climb Scafell Pike that night and finish Snowdon on Sunday in Wales!

WHY? - some-one suggested it, it sounded fun and we haven't "done" a challenge since walking round Jersey and the odd Moon Walk...

SOME GOOD MAY COME OF IT - The event as such is not being done as a "charity event" However, we thought that we should take the opportunity to raise funds along the way for Opportunity International which is a micro finance organisation which we have been partnering with at work for the last few years. In 2008 through our Charity Committe we raised sufficent funds to build a branch of OI in Ghana and are now aiming to do the same in Mulanje, Malwai, to compliment the bank on wheels we financed there last year. The banks allow the poor and overlooked not only to save money in a safe environment but also to borrow small amounts of money to work as seed-capital in their chosen businesses. By helping people to be economically independent we are giving them the tools for future sustainability - both for themselves and their families. Opportunity International is about giving the poor a hand up as opposed to a hand out which is why we believe it is a great charity to partner with...

So please help us turn this challenge into something more meaningful.
