Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be taking part in a fund-raising 400km cycle across Sri Lanka in September 2013 and aim to raise £3500. They say you never forget how to cycle, but my training efforts so far are telling me a different story,This is going to be a major effort!
I want to raise money to support research and education into better prevention, diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases affecting mothers and their babies
I am taking part because two of my sons have a rare genetic condition called Wilson's disease, which affects the liver and nervous system. Wilson's disease is fatal if it is left untreated, but if it is diagnosed early, affected people can go on to lead a normal, healthy life. I aim to raise money to support better research into the early diagnosis and prevention of diseases affecting mothers and their babies.
I am raising money for two charities. The Genesis Trust: Women for Women which funds research into all aspects of mother and child health and the Wilson's Disease Support Group, which supports people with Wilson's disease and their families.
