Story
In December 2021, 5 days before Christmas, I was told I most likely had breast cancer. Once it was confirmed in January, and I was told that luckily it was treatable, my first question was, “will I lose my hair?”
Sadly I did once the chemo had begun, and amongst a load of other side effects I really didn’t feel myself at all.
Then, around the time of my surgery later in the summer, I discovered the Look Good Feel Better charity. They are a small charity who do wonderful things for people dealing with cancer to make them feel better. Exercise classes online, makeup and hair workshops, meditation, etc etc. They are fantastic.
I went to a face-to-face makeup workshop in August and met some lovely people, was given a huge bag of free stuff thanks to the wonderful brands donating their products, and I had a really enjoyable day. And there weren’t many of those earlier this year.
They do so, so much to help people feel just a bit better whilst going through this hideous time and rely on donations from companies to support these workshops. They also need money to help keep the charity going.
So, this is where my run comes in, and now I’m asking you for money. I want to raise AS MUCH as possible for them.

Look Good Feel Better is a cancer support charity providing wellbeing workshops virtually and in hospitals and cancer centres across the UK.Workshops are led by trained volunteers, who support women, men and young adults who are affected both visibly and emotionally from the side-effects of treatment.The charity helps to improve confidence and self-esteem, provide practical advice, and reduce feelings of isolation and anxiety, enabling a more positive mental attitude during what can be a truly difficult time for people living with cancer.
