Story
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support.
Through our parents both Liz and I saw the devastation that Dementia can bring about. Partly as a result of this (and partly because we now can!) we are planning to do a 'Memory Walk' on 9th September in aid of the Alzheimer's Society. We're not planning to cover any great distance (so not expecting to raise huge sums!) but will probably walk from our home in the north-west of Southampton to the Solent at Mayflower Park and back - we calculate about about 8½ miles
If you'd like to contribute to Alzheimer's Society in recognition of our Memory Walk, you can do this via a JustGiving page. As Tesco would say: "Every little helps!"
No pressure and no expectation - just an opportunity if you would like to! Whether or not you are able to contribute to this, thanks for reading!
Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society. You don't need to do anything more. And thank you! #MemoryWalk
