Story
On Sunday, 5th November 2006, Army runner Sgt Taff Tanner was successful in his bid to complete his dual marathon charity run for National Deafblind charity Sense, as he tackled the streets of New York.
On a fabulous day with some warm sunshine, Taff completed the ING New York Marathon course in just under 3 hrs 50 mins.
Taff completed the whole course in a Sense orange affro wig, and almost every 200 metres found the energy to blow the horn he is pictured with.
Taff said afterwards, "Everytime I blew the horn the crowds cheered louder. Everytime a runner started to flake, I blew the horn and it inspired the runner to keep going! And in between I just blew the horn!!!"
So having run 26.2 miles in London and 26.2 miles in New York, and about 1500 miles in training, based on around 40-45 miles per week this year, you would think Taff would be taking some time off to rest?
Not So!!!
Taff is now back in training for the London Marathon next April.
You can still sponsor him at the following link:-
