Story

The past year has been tough for everyone but coronavirus has hit people affected by dementia the hardest and continues to disrupt lives. So that's why I'm making a splash and taking on Swim for Dementia. Please donate to support me and ensure Alzheimer's Society can be there for the people who need them most.

My dearest grandma developed this disease and during the pandemic ended up in full time care after being lovingly cared for by family for many years.. The far reaching effects that this awful disease has are unprecedented. This disease effects the whole family. Watching a strong, independent loved one turn into a shadow of themselves and becoming so distressed heart breaking.

More needs to be done to allow patient support to be continued as well as developing support for loved ones and educating people about this disease and treating the whole person.

I will be swimming 1 mile over the course of a month, anyone who knows me knows that this is no easy ask given my own health  this year. Wish me luck!
