Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
We are running this half marathon to raise funds and awareness for Marie Curie Cancer Care. We have chosen this charity as we both know 1st hand the great care & support that they have given people close to our hearts & our families.
(Gordon) This is my 1st half marathon and I wanted a challenge and raise a few quid for a great and worthwhile cause at the same time. Sadly everyone is affected by cancer at some point in their lives, my Gran spent her last days in a Marie Curie Hospice in Glasgow. The high level of care and professionalism from all the staff shown to my Gran and our family at such a difficult time is the reason I have chosen this charity. So...I'm training hard and I've got Suzanne behind me (on my back!!) to drive me on so please donate if you can spare a few quid.
(Suzanne) This will be my third time running the Glasgow half, the second time i ran the race was with my Brother James whilst i was still in recovery from Thyriod Cancer, we both done amazing and raised over £1500 for Cancer Research. This year me and Gordon will be running for Marie Curie Cancer Care as unfortunately not everyone gets the chance to recover. Marie Curie provide support and comfort for familys and loved ones in there last weeks/days and hours as unfortunately i have experienced first hand, they do amazing work with very little funding which is why we need to raise as much as we can to help. My own personal goal for this race is to complete it without walkng, run the whole 13.2 miles as i have always had to walk some of it, i have and will be training hard alongside Gordon to make sure this happens, its Gordon's first half and he is doing so well so please show us your support in any way you can and donate what you can.
