Thank you for taking the time to visit our Morse Family JustGiving page!

We are currently supporting the fundraising efforts of our local pony club, which has kept the girls active and involved since we joined six years ago. We need to raise an overwhelming $480,000 so any help is appreciated!

When we moved to England in 2003 Lauren and Gwyneth (then age 7 and 3) fell in love with ponies. First they had lessons on the local Shetland, then learned to jump on 30+ year-old veterans Bunny and Beasty. Along the way they learned valuable life lessons like humility, perseverance, and how to take a fall and get back up again!

We love our local pony club as it welcomed us despite our being "American!" Our club is run by volunteers, and like scouting, offers achievement badges and the extremely popular summertime sleep-over camp. Boys and girls from many different neighborhoods and economic backgrounds come together in our fields to practice hard and achieve their dreams.

Through the efforts of our volunteers (mainly mums and dads like us!) and money raised through both donations and a lottery grant, we have built (over 20 years) a very impressive cross-country course, show jumping arenas, and a barn with running water all of which are enjoyed by our 200+ members, and used by other riding clubs as well. This facility, the hub of our community, has now come under threat, as unfortunately, our landlord wants to sell the land and our lease expires in April 2011.

Unless we can raise the asking price of $480,000 we will need to leave the site, the jumps, the barn, (our pony club home!)... and find an empty field somewhere to start again.
