I will be taking part in the 2012 London Marathon, running for the Xerox team raising money for Team PB.

I am running in memory of my wonderful Dad, who was more than just a Dad. He was and still is a true inspiration to me, a mentor, a hero and one of my best friends. He lost his brave fight against cancer just before Christmas in 2010 and we miss him so much every day.

I am also remembering the other members of my family and friends who have been affected by or have lost someone special to cancer.

The work on research into treatments and cures is amazing. There is little doubt that if my Dad had not been accepted for a drugs trial that we would have lost him many months before we did. Although these drugs stopped working after 4 months, they bought enough time for us to do some special things together as a family. It allowed us to make the most of the time he had left, and that we had with him.
