Story
We are walking the Worcestershire Way for Shophie Thompson and her wish to walk :)
Sophie was diagnosed with Spastic Diplegia, Cerebral Palsy at 16 months old. The condition causes her lower limbs to be permanently tight and she is unable to walk, stand, run, jump, balance, climb or complete any other similar activities without assistance. Sophie also wears splints (AFO’s) which forces her feet flat to the floor, leaving her uncomfortable and at times in pain and discomfort. See www.mymagiclegs.co.uk for Sophie's story.
Sophie would benefit from having the operation called Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR). The only thing that stands in the way of an able childhood is money! The overall cost of the treatment, including aftercare and the required aids, is a minimum of £40,000. Any donation you make, no matter how little, will be greatly appreciated.
