Story
Hello my name is Susan, thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :) I've now completed the Stomp but my page is open until February 2011
Last year I joined Twitter and have met some amazing people who have challenged me to join in various walks for charity. This year one of those people was Helen @Adventurefarm from CAFT (Children's Adventure Farm Trust).
CAFT is an amazing charity which offers free adventure breaks and activities to children who are disadvantaged by illness, disability and poverty. They need to raise in excess of £800,000 a year and they TOTALLY rely on donations. They have some famous patrons in Lee Boardman, Jennifer James, Jason Manford & Andrew 'Freddie' Flintoff. Please read more about them here http://www.childrensadventurefarm.org/
I've never had the chance to find out what is happening at the ground roots of a charity but I have visited CAFT on 2 occasions now. It's such a great set up I feel passionate about what the charity does for the children and the staff are just amazing people.
The Sahara Stomp is a six-day trip in November from 18-23 to northern Africa's Sahara desert where as a group, we will experience some of the world's most breathtaking landscapes. During the three day trek, we will see the Sahara desert at its very best – culminating in the spectacular, colourful desert sunrise viewed from the top of the Chigaga Dunes in the heart of the desert. http://saharastomp.co.uk/
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
I hope between us we can give some happiness to some great children :) Thank you for any donation, it all adds up and helps :) xx
