Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have two very dear friends, one whose grandson and the other whose nephew were born with this severe and rare condition. Jack, nine, and Josh, seven, have battled TOF (Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula and Oesophageal Atresia) all their lives, undergoing multiple operations to keep them alive.
Affecting one in every 3,500 babies, the illness affects a child's ability to swallow and digest food, resulting in invasive surgery and resultant health problems. TOFS is a charity that primarily provides information and support for parents, as well as working closely with researchers and medical bodies. TOFS relies heavily on voluntary membership donations, which is why every penny we raise matters so much.
Jack and Josh are cheerful, determined and live every day to the fullest. It's because they are such inspirational children that I want to increase awareness of the condition, and also raise funds to help with family support and vital research into how and why this illness occurs. This a small charity and a relatively unknown condition, so it's a chance for us all to make a real difference to the lives of these children. Knowing I have your support will inspire me every pedal of the way!
