In view of the government’s decision not to fund free school meals during holidays (not in Wales), this puts a huge strain on charities that are desperately trying to address the problem of hungry children. 

Imagine loosing your job because of the Covid outbreak and finding yourself trying to maintain a home on a pittance. With protection for tenants about to end, do you feed your children, keep them warm or risk eviction? These are the terrible decisions that face many parents now and through no fault of their own. If charities can at least take away some of the burden by providing their children with just one good meal a day, shouldn’t we more fortunate ones be doing something to help?
