Story
Hi, I am Rajan, 12 years old and go to Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School.
My sister (Shaan) and I were watching the news and we saw the London Marathon was postponed until October this year and lots of charity events have also been postponed or cancelled due to Covid-19. This means that lots of charities are not getting the money they require to help the people in need.
I thought, because we are having to stay at home and off school, we could do a charity event and help in any way we can. So as the London Marathon is 26 miles, I have decided to cycle on a stationary bike for 26km and run 2.6 miles on the road with my sister who is aged 8.
All the money we raise will go to a charity called ‘Birmingham Mind.’ We have chosen this charity because it's local and we feel during this period of lockdown many peoples' wellbeing and mental health will suffer and their services are probably vital now more than ever!
On the 26th of April when the London Marathon is supposed to take place, my sister and I will be raising
money for our chosen charity.
Please donate what you can, so we can help Birmingham Mind continue supporting the people who really need it and particularly now when they have seen a big increase in demand for their vital work.
Thank you for your support!
Rajan and Shaan Dehal
