Last year Paul our eldest son received the shocking news that he had been diagnosed with EHE, an ultra rare type of blood vessel cancer.
The EHE charity have been very supportive of Paul , and have provided him and us with answers to some of his and our many questions. As this is a very rare cancer (and even rarer in men), little is known about it and very little research is carried out.
Paul is not receiving any treatment at present , but is being monitored by the excellent team at The Royal Marsden Hospital, London.
Paul is a very determined and positive man and keeps himself very fit. He is going to run with his partner and friends in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2022, and is taking part in the London to Essex 100 mile bike ride in May 2022 to raise much needed funds for the EHE charity.
Paul has agreed to participate in the research for this disease.
Clearly, as a family we were devastated by the initial diagnosis as were Paul, his partner Jenny, and his friends. With the help and advice of the EHE charity and the Royal Marsden we are starting to understand more about this cancer. More needs to be known about its causes, why It can lay dormant for months or even years, and what triggers it to become very aggressive. This is why more more money is needed for the research.
Please make a donation to the EHE charity, and then choose a headband or two from the photos and message me to let me know your address and which one or ones you would like and I’ll arrange delivery or post them to you (free of charge).
I would like to thank my knitting friends (Pat, Alison, Carole Lynne, Christine, Wendy and Jenny) who along with myself have also been creating these headbands/ear warmers for this cancer charity.
