We have entered an Expro team to compete in Survival of the Fittest in Edinburgh on the 20th of October, the team comprises 20 members made up from Expro's Aberdeen and Reading bases. We have recieved sponsorship for our entry to the race from Expro's senior management, we are running... climbing and crawling to raise much needed funds to support the ANCHOR Unit.
Friends of Anchor rasie money on behalf of the Anchor Unit whose support area extends throughtout the North East of Scotland including Orkney and Shetland.
The Aberdeen and North Centre for Haematology, Oncology and Radiotherapy (ANCHOR) unit is a fully funded NHS department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary that brings together experts and specialist nursing support to coordinate care of patients with all forms of cancer, leukaemia and benign blood disorders such as haemophilia.
Friends of ANCHOR funds the purchase of non-NHS provided equipment for the ANCHOR unit, The charity is committed to providing additional care, comfort and support for their patients and since 1997 the charity has funded research projects at the University of Aberdeen amounting to almost £1m.
