I am a Paediatric Surgeon at Manchester Children's Hospital. I perform reconstructive kidney and bladder operations in children. Robotic technology can make the surgery more precise and allow faster recovery. Currently only adults benefit from this surgery in the North West. With your help we can extend this service to children having reconstructive operations on their bladder or kidneys.

The money raised will go towards the extra training and equipment needed over and above what is currently offered. The surgery is expected to have significant patient benefits in terms of recovery (at least 2 days in hospital shorter on average per patient). The precision of surgery is far superior to our current "key-hole" surgery equipment particularly when it comes to the fine suturing required for the more complex reconstructive surgeries.
