My daughter Ellie has learning difficulties. She was provided support and care in her early years in a Mencap nursery. The staff at her Mencap nursery were amazing. They really cared for the children and give them exactly the support they needed where mainstream nurseries couldn't. Funding for Mencap is vital to ensure that children like Ellie get the best start in life and to ease them into the education system at the level they require. I have set myself a challenge to run the Belfast Half Marathon 2014, the Great South Run 2014, the Oxford Half Marathon 2014, the Reading Half Marathon 2015, and finally the London Marathon 2015. I hope to raise as much money as possible for Mencap who really give a voice to people with learning difficulties.
