Velu loved to plant trees and took great pleasure in watching them grow. Moor Trees are a Devon-based independent charity which aims to reforest Dartmoor with native, broadleaf trees they grow in their two community tree nurseries with the help of talented volunteers. Every year they grow 50,000 trees, which is the equivalent of 240 football pitches! Moor Trees also run a volunteer training programme. Volunteers will be taught about tree identification, assessing tree health, mapping, recording, and biosecurity. Volunteering will be made accessible to everyone, regardless of the time they've got to spare, transport, or age.
