Story
I have chosen mind as mental health is a massive thing for me as I struggle with severe depression and anxiety. Getting out of the house is a huge thing lately and being with people, NO NO NO. Id rather be on my own, Cant even be with family for more than a couple of hours. Exercise and being outside is fantastic for helping with my depression and anxiety , for me though, exercising and being outside was almost taken away from me back in September 2022 due to the ear/head issues that I suffer from. My balance severely compromises how often I get out, if its windy Im stuck indoors, if Im having vertigo attacks, Im stuck indoors which is debilitating. This means that training for my events is going to be very hit and miss. However, I am determined to get round both marathons which are 3 weeks apart! Its not going to be about the time, its all about completing them and not allowing my head to tell me that I cant!
Im also taking part in the Castle to Coast half iron man, 1.2 mile swim, 67 mile bike ride finishing with a 14 mile run. I am managing to do some bike training on zwift as again due to my head, I cant ride outside. I am hoping that at the end of March when I have my next hospital appoitment, that I am given some hope of being able to get back in the water, If I cant, then this event will be deferred to 2024 as I want to be able to take part in all three disciplines.
The more pennies I can raise, means more determination not to fail!
