Many of you will will know that for many years I have played for Boobs and Brass, an all-female brass band with branches in the Midlands, Yorkshire, and the  South of England.  This was originally set up in 2006 by two amazing ladies, Maggie Betts and Jane Nichols, as a one -off concert. Little did they know that 12 years later it would still be going strong.

Boobs and Brass has, since then, raised  £234,158. Of this, £199,179 has been donated to Breast Cancer Now and the remaining £34,979 has gone to other charities.  Boobs and Brass is currently completely funding it's 10th medical research project for Breast Cancer Now 

I'm sure we all know someone who has been affected by this dreadful disease, and, in some cases, lost their fight with it.  Certainly there are several girls in the band who have been affected by breast cancer but, thankfully, most have been treated successfully, thanks to the advances in treatment that research over the last 10 years has brought about.

It would be wonderful to get the total amount raised to the magic £250K so that Boobs and Brass can fund their 11th research project for Breast Cancer Now.  With this aim in mind, Team Boobs and Brass (myself and and another 'boobie' - Donna Compton) are running the Great North Run 2018 for Breast Cancer Now, on behalf of all the wonderful ladies (and men) of Boobs and Brass.  Anything you can give would be so much appreciated.  Go Team Boobs!
