We are raising money for BRIGHT in memory of Sue as this was her chosen charity. As you know Sue was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in 2016 and bravely battled the disease in the following years. BRIGHT is the charity which her consultant Dr Dhillon is a trustee of and his work with the charity funds research into world leading cancer trials.
Their aim is to improve the lives of those affected by Gastro-Intestinal and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary cancers.
BRIGHT supports the clinical and research work of cancer specialists at St Luke’s Cancer Centre and the Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) Surgery Unit, both based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital (RSCH) in Guildford
BRIGHT fund ongoing research into improving treatment options and outcomes for patients through the purchase of new equipment for a whole range of GI and HPB cancer treatments, including surgery, chemotherapy, immunotherapy, radiotherapy and other advanced treatments.
The charity was set up in 1996 for patients from across Surrey and Sussex who are treated at the St Luke’s Cancer Centre (Royal Surrey County Hospital, Guildford). The work carried out has significantly improved patients survival outcomes and treatments.
