Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In April 2014 I stood on Tower Bridge watching the London Marathon. I was inspired...as simple as that. I decided that if I could put one foot in front of the other, why not challenge myself to put on some trainers and run. A year later, I did exactly that. It was incredible...tough but immensely satisfying knowing that my efforts would go a long way to supporting MS-UK and those people whose lives are affected by Multiple Sclerosis.
That experience will certainly stay with me forever as I forged
a wonderful relationship with MS-UK enabling me to witness first hand the fantastic work they do in giving support and offering information to anyone affected by MS. Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system, with approximately 100,000 people in the UK suffering from the condition. My lifelong friend and neighbour Keith was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2012, so it is because of Keith that I'm passionate about raising vital funds for MS-UK. I'd also like to give a special mention to my former LLP colleague 'Sticks', who has lived with MS for over thirty years. It's characters like Woody and Sticks who will keep me going on the big day.
I'm proud to be a part of team MS-UK. I'd be so grateful if you
would offer your support in making a donation to my chosen charity.
In the coming months, in all weathers, I'll be putting in hours
of training, ensuring that I arrive at the start line 'Marathon ready' Foley style! I'm entered into Great Bentley Half Marathon, the Essex 20 mile race and Colchester Half Marathon to name a few....that's a lot of running for a lady of a certain age who up until May 2014 had only ever run for a bus!
Please support me in helping MS-UK by donating here at JustGiving and let's paint London purple together. Thank you from the bottom of my purple pants!!
