Help Marie Curie Nurses care for more terminally ill people and their families.
I'm taking part in Walk Ten Derbyshire at Chatsworth House to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
I lost my wonderful friend and sister in law, Faith McCulloch on 12 August last year. From diagnosis to losing her took only 4 months. No one had the chance to adjust to the expectation of her dying, and her family were thrown into the horror of it all with no time to make plans, relieve her pain, or extend the time we had with her. She was so incredibly brave, and so positive, even when she was so very scared of everything that was happening to her. This was a woman who lived for her family and she wanted so much to spend every last moment with them.
Faith was the kind of person who you could always talk to. She always had time for everyone, and especially anyone in trouble. I wonder if she knew the impact and influence she had on so many people's lives, with the kindness and open hospitality she showed to everyone. One thing for sure is that she will always be remembered with love.
I remember so many happy and memorable times with Faith and my brother Patrick and our girls. Too many to list here, but all unforgettable to me. My daughters and theirs were very close in age, which meant holidays were always fun - 5 girls together..!!!
Her daughters and husband miss her massively and so I am doing this small thing just to remember her and to dedicate this day to a warm, witty, understanding, and loving friend and sister in law. She will be missed forever.
£20 provides 1 hour of Marie Curie nursing care, but whatever you can give will help terminally ill people and their families when they need it most.
Thank you for your support.
