Story
Hi Guys,
Thats right Stuey Watt (Charlie) is running the 2010 Virgin London Marathon - and I know what your
thinking, and yes...I am in fact Ginger!
I will be running for the CMA (Cardiomyopathy Association). The CMA is a registered
charity that helpspeople and their families affected by the heart
muscle condition
cardiomyopathy. We provide support
and easy-to-understand information on the different
types of
cardiomyopathy.
Running for this charity is very important to me, since many of you know (and many of you that don't know) 6 years ago on the 2nd August, my brother (20 years old) died suddenly whilst driving his car. It was a devastating time for all of us as we had no idea what had happened. The coroner told me and my family that he had Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy**. Not only that but me and my other brother needed to get tested since it is hereditary. At the time we had never heard of the condition and luckily me and my brother don't have it. It was a very difficult time when Ian died as he was training to go into the Navy and had a great future ahead of him. The why I am running for the CMA is to make people more aware of the condition through my fundraising and the actual run because like me 6 years ago, a lot of people would not have heard of the condition. But also the money I would raise for the CMA would help more and more people who have either lost a family member or friend through HCM or who are living with the condition and need extra support. **The term cardiomyopathy is purely descriptive,
meaning disease of the heart muscle. There The main feature of HCM is an excessive
thickening of the heart muscle (hypertrophy literally So there you have it, I need to raise £2000.00 for the charity and hopefully it will make a difference - Please give me money! :-) Stu 'Charlie' Watt Peace! Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Donating
