Stuart's LEJOG 2011

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
This Easter I'm aiming to achieve one of my life-long cycling goals by completing Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG for short). It's not a solo effort as I'm riding it with my best friend Jamie Coates, and my Dad (Mike) is acting as the support team piloting our camper van (along with his trusty hound, Comet).
We will be starting in Lands End on Easter Monday, 25 April 2011 and are expecting to finish 10 days and 1000 miles later, in John O'Groats, (with a possible extra excursion onto Orkney if the legs are still feeling good). It will be a 100 mile a day average - my longest ride to date being 85 miles and that was some years ago! Whilst completing the ride, I would like to try and raise some money for a charity that I admire greatly: Yorkshire Air Ambulance. They rely solely on charitable donations to keep their helicopters in the air and have saved many lives over the years. My target is £1000 - £1 for every mile cycled.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Your support - however small - would be gratefully appreciated by Yorkshire Air Ambulance, and will help me through the tough times ahead en route (and I'm expecting a few of them)! Thank You!
