Story
On October 2nd 2022 I will be running the London Marathon on behalf of UCLH Cancer Fund. This is a charity very close to my heart as, in August 2017, my girlfriend Kat was diagnosed with cancer and the team at UCLH looked after her impeccably. The support they offered us and the facilities they provided made a very tough year that little bit easier. From the nurses and the doctors in the UCLH Macmillan Centre to the team in the Cotton Rooms where we stayed during Kat's treatment everyone we came across was fantastic. As a small thank you for what they did for us I will be running the marathon to raise funds so the UCLH Cancer Fund can continue to do their amazing work. Below is a little bit more about the charity and why I am running for this incredible cause. Any contribution to help will be much appreciated.
Over 14,000 people every year are treated for cancer at University College Hospital, and this number is rising annually. Our patients come from across the UK though mostly from north London, Hertfordshire and Essex. University College Hospital aims to ensure that all people with cancer, and their families and carers receive a world-class service from diagnosis through treatment and beyond. To achieve this aim and to support our patients, we have created the University College Hospital Cancer Fund which assists with important areas of work above and beyond what the NHS is able to provide.
